Zoe-perry

Perry was born in Chicago to two actors Laurie Metcalf and Jeff Perry. Her first television roles were two episodes as Jackie Harris (as seen in flashback) in her role on the ABC sitcom Roseanne, the character portrayed by her mom. The family did not allow her to act until she turned an adult because of how stress can impact on their daughter. Perry said that she was shy to act when she was in high school. However, she started acting in the theater at Northwestern University as a way to make friends after transferring to the university from Boston University. Perry when she graduated from Boston University, relocated from Boston to New York in search of TV roles. Her small part was in shows like Law & Order: Criminal Intent. But, her home-sickness caused her to move to California in search of theater jobs. Her mother and she starred on Broadway as a couple for the play The Other Place, in 2013. In 2015, Perry appeared along with Kevin McKidd alongside her mother in Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer Prize-winning drama Anna Christie. Odyssey Theatre Ensemble Odyssey Theatre Ensemble is located in West Los Angeles. Perry appeared in nine episodes of The Family, an ABC thriller The Family in 2016. In 2017, Perry was a part-time character in ABC's thriller about politics Scandal which starred her father. In the same year, she portrayed a younger model of Mary Cooper on Young Sheldon (a CBS spinoff The Big Bang Theory) in which she played her mother as a young version. Despite her family link to her character, she got the part through an audition.
