Zoe-perry

Perry is the daughter to Laurie Metcalf (actor) and Jeff Perry, a director. Her first TV roles were two times for the character Jackie Harris (as seen in flashback) in her role on the ABC sitcom Roseanne The character was portrayed by her mom. Her parents, however, would not let her pursue acting until she became older and worried about the consequences of stress. Perry was shy during high school and wasn't a good actor. She began acting at Northwestern University to gain friends after she was transferred from Boston University. When she graduated, Perry went into New York to search for jobs on television, landing a couple of small parts in series like Law & Order: Criminal Intent but homesickness brought her back to California which is where she discovered theatre work. Her mother and she appeared on Broadway with her with her in The Other Place, in 2013. In the year 2015, she was along with Kevin McKidd alongside her mother in Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer Prizewinning Drama Anna Christie. The Odyssey Theatre Ensemble is located in West Los Angeles. In the year 2016, Perry appeared on nine episodes of ABC's thriller The Family. In 2017, she had a minor role on ABC's political thriller Scandal which starred her father. This year, she got a role as a young version of Mary Cooper (Sheldon Cooper's mother) on Young Sheldon, a spin-off of the CBS sitcom The Big Bang Theory again as a younger counterpart to Mary Cooper's character. Despite her family link to this character, she received the part via audition.
