Zoe-perry
Perry is daughter to actors Laurie Metcalf, and Jeff Perry. Her first television roles were two appearances for the character Jackie Harris (as seen in flashback) on her role on the ABC sitcom Roseanne The character was portrayed by her mother. She was not allowed to act by her parents until she reached old age, due to the pressure it would bring. Perry was shy in high-school and did not act. She started acting at Northwestern University to gain friends when she transferred to the university from Boston University. Perry began her career at New York after graduation, getting small roles on Law & Order: Criminal Intent. However, her home-sickness forced Perry come back to California to pursue work as a theatre actress. She appeared on Broadway as a part of The Other Place with her mother in 2013. In 2015, Perry appeared with Kevin McKidd alongside her mother in Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer Prize-winning Drama Anna Christie. It is part of the Odyssey Theatre Ensemble is located in West Los Angeles. Perry was in nine episodes of The Family, an ABC thriller The Family in 2016. She was also a regular actor in the ABC Drama about politics Scandal which starred her father. She was also cast in The CBS sitcom The Big Bang Theory spin-off Young Sheldon as a version younger of Mary Cooper, Sheldon Cooper's mother. She was cast in the part despite the close family connection to the character.
