Zoe-perry
Perry is the son of Laurie Metcalf (actor) and Jeff Perry, a director. On the ABC sitcom Roseanne (in flashback) Her mother portrayed Jackie Harris in two of Perry's initial TV roles. However, her parents would not let her perform until she turned an adult fearing the effect of stress. Perry stated that she felt shy to do any acting at the age of 16, but she began doing shows in the theater at Northwestern University as a way to make friends after transferring to the university from Boston University. Perry made her debut as an actress in New York after graduation, getting small roles on Law & Order: Criminal Intent. However, her home-sickness forced Perry return to California and find work as a stage actress. She performed on Broadway in The Other Place with her mother in the year 2013. Perry was in the show with her father Kevin McKidd and Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer Prize winning drama Anna Christie in the year 2015 on The Odyssey Theatre Ensemble, West Los Angeles. In the year 2016, Perry appeared on nine episodes of ABC's thriller The Family. Perry played a prominent role as a character on ABC Drama about politics Scandal which starred her father. In the same year, she portrayed a younger model of Mary Cooper on Young Sheldon (a CBS spinoff The Big Bang Theory) in which she played her mother as a young version. The actress was chosen for the part despite having a close familial connection to the character.
